Alberta “Bert” D. Woodward peacefully moved on to a better place, reuniting with family and friends on November 18 at the age of 84.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, November 24, 2025 at The Episcopal Church of St. Simon & St. Jude, 1110 Kinley Rd, Irmo, SC 29063. A reception will follow the service.
A native of Pennsylvania, originally from Bucks County, she spent the last 60 years in the South, which she loved dearly. She began her career at NJ Bell Telephone Company and retired in 2003 after a fulfilling career at the law firm Nelson, Mullins Riley & Scarborough as their Director of Administrative & Operations Services, a position she held for 22 years.
Bert was an active member of the Association of Legal Administrators, an international organization. She served in various roles, including Secretary, Treasurer, and President of the South Carolina Chapter.
She was an avid golfer and served on the Board of Governors of Coldstream Country Club. Bert enjoyed many social groups and cherished her friendships within them, including gardening clubs, several bridge clubs, and Bunco.
Bert was a member of The Episcopal Church of St. Simon & St. Jude. She enjoyed attending services regularly with her doting husband, Dick, of 64 years, and her sister-in-law, Betty Trost, both of whom reside in Irmo. Her daughter, Michele, lives in Alpharetta, Georgia.
