Audrey Truesdale Kohn

Audrey Truesdale Kohn, 82, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023. She was born on November 26, 1941, in Lake City, SC, to Sidney James and Faye Elvington James. Audrey worked for the Irmo-Chapin Recreation Commission at Seven Oaks Park in the Senior Aging Program. She served as the Assistant Director for the Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission’s Council on Aging Program. She spent fifteen years working for the South Carolina Senior Sports Program and became a Board Member in 1987. She served many years as Treasurer on the Executive Board helping with registration, sales, and special events. Audrey had a passion and love for serving her senior community. Audrey is survived by her daughters, Sarah Faye Truesdale of Hopkins; Paula T. Gardner (Jeffrey) of Columbia; and Kimberly T. Nunnery (Kenny) of Columbia; son, Paul Truesdale, III, “Trey” (Darlene), of Prosperity, six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters, Mickey Godfrey and Sheryl J. Plott, both of Charleston. In addition to her parents, Audrey was predeceased by husbands, Paul Truesdale, Jr. and Richard E. Kohn, and her brother, Sid “Jamie” James. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023, in the chapel of Temples-Halloran Funeral Home. The Reverend Dr. Mark Bredholt will officiate. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family strongly requests that donations be made to Meals on Wheels, 125 Parker Street, Lexington, SC 29072.
