Columbia, SC--SFC(Ret) Bennie L .Ouzts, Jr.(age 92) passed away On November 18, 2025. Ben was born on December 1, 1932 to Bennie L. Ouzts, Sr. and Jennie Kyzer Ouzts in Newberry County, South Carolina.
After attending Newberry High School, Ben joined the US Army. Ben proudly served for 21 years. Ben was a veteran of two combat tours in Vietnam where he received the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart and Combat Infantry Badge. Ben was also a retiree of the US Civil Service. Upon full retirement Ben volunteered at the Seven Oaks Recreation Commission as a deliverer of Meals on Wheels and driving the bus for Senior Citizen trips.
Ben is survived by his wife of almost 67 years, Martha Joyner Ouzts of Columbia , SC; sons Bennie L Ouzts III, Pensacola, FL, Stephen Wayne Ouzts (Liberty), Beaufort, SC, Robert Allen Ouzts(Mia), Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren, Kathie Ouzts, Jessica Ouzts, Eleni Settle (Donnie), Robert Allen Ouzts II; great-grandchildren, Aiden Ouzts, and RJ White. He was predeceased by great grandchild, Ainsley Ouzts.
A private interment at Fort Jackson National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
