Bill Herschel Stout

A Graveside service for Mr. Billy Herschel Stout will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 15, 2021, in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Temples Halloran Funeral Home. Mr. Stout was born in Ft. Worth, TX to the late Herschel Stout and Jewell Justice Brown. He passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021. He attended St. Andrews Church of Christ. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean war. After working and managing in the furniture industry for several years, he found his true passion for lifelong learning by obtaining his doctorate in his senior years and becoming an educator at Midlands Tech for 14 years.Simultaneously, he also traveled the country as part-owner of Busy Bee Bus Company.He enjoyed Lizards Thicket and Dallas Cowboys football. Surviving are his daughter, Stephanie S. Wallace (Jeff) of Daniel Island, SC, and his son, Scott Stout of Columbia, SC; sisters, Peggy Cox and Dorothy McKnight; brother, Bob Stout; six grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Billy was blessed to have two loves of his life and is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Clara Jean Harvey Stout, and Naomi Williams Stout.
