WEST COLUMBIA—Charles Edward Wilbur passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, after a brief illness.Born in Glen White, West Virginia to the late Paul E. Wilbur and Mary Bolton Wilbur. Charles was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High in Beckley, West Virginia. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1957. Mr. Wilbur was employed at Eastern Airlines for 28 years. He retired from SCE&G in 2000. Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Lois Stanley Wilbur; daughters, Karen Morgan (Dexter), Becky Rish (Allan); granddaughter, Madison Rish; brothers, Bob Wilbur (Eva), Gene Wilbur (Lavern); sisters, Elizabeth Ann “Liz” Dailey (Furman), Jane McCoy (George); along with many loving nieces and nephews and special extended family, Sherry, Kenny and Kendall Fuller.He was predeceased by brothers, Bill, Dick, Jim and Walter Wilbur and grandson, Jamie Rish. Funeral services for Charles E. Wilbur will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.The Pastor Michael Gunter will officiate. Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens, with US Air Force honors.Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2014 at the funeral home.The Family will be at the home of Allan and Becky Rish. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 81 Gadsden St., Charleston, SC 29401, in loving memory of Jamie Rish.
