In Loving Memory of Dianne Elizabeth Rodes
It is with great sadness that the family of Dianne Elizabeth Rodes announces her passing on November 8, 2025. Dianne left this world as she lived it – surrounded by the love of her husband of 33 years, John Rodes, and family.
Born on July 15, 1955, in the Pine Hill Community of Orangeburg, SC. Dianne grew up surrounded by the warmth of a close-knit family. She was the daughter of the late Gerald Wayne Banks and the late Evelyn Griffith Banks. She was predeceased by her brother, Gordon Banks and her niece, Ashley Martin.
Dianne graduated from North High School and Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College. Known for her radiant smile and gentle spirit, Dianne touched countless lives through her professional life as a radiology technologist with Baptist Hospital, MUSC, and the Heart Center. The special friendships forged during her career with Susan Snipes and Sandy McKown provided comfort and support during her extended illness.
Dianne’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband, John Rodes, sister Geraldine (Geri) Martin (Carroll) of West Columbia, SC, two nieces, Jennifer Harris (Ryan) of Holly Springs, NC, Catherine Menger (Nick) of Lexington, SC, a grandniece and 3 grandnephews.
Dianne was so appreciative for the support and thoughtfulness expressed through numerous cards, texts, calls, and visits from friends and her extended Griffith and Banks family members. The family would also like to express their gratitude for the wonderful support and care provided by Amedisys Hospice.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a celebration of Dianne’s life on November 22, 202,5 at Temples-Halloran Funeral Home Chapel (5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
