Doris Mae Bucholz

PROSPERITY—Doris Mae Bucholz, born March 31, 1931 in Oil City Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side on March 20, 2015.She was blessed in being able to live an active, fun-loving, and happy life! Doris led the Majorie Derrick Circle at Chapin United Methodist Church, heading up the church kitchen for many years.In addition, she was active in both the Sunday School and Fellowship Class.For enjoyment, she loved worldwide traveling, tending to her flower gardens and entertaining her many friends.She loved living on the lake, always ready for the exhilaration of a fast boat ride.Doris held a Master’s Degree in Common Sense and a PhD in Loving Others. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Donald J. and Lavada Winger, of Oil City, Pennsylvania; her sisters, June and Pearl; brothers, Don and Jack.She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Albert A. Bucholz Jr., of Prosperity; Son, Wayne K. Bucholz (Gail), of Mauldin; Daughter, Sandra Kee Bucholz, of Irmo; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and her beloved dog, Addie. There will be a memorial service at graveside for family in the near future.The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caring professionals at Lutheran Hospice.
