CHAPIN—Graveside service for Dorothea F. Cannon, 87, of Chapin will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.The family will greet friends following the service at the graveside.Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC is assisting the family. Mrs. Cannon, beloved wife of 62 years to the late Edward Cannon, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015. Born in Cliffside Park, NJ, she was the daughter of the late George Dopslaff and Florence McAllister Dopslaff.She and her husband moved to South Carolina in 1983, she taught at Saluda Middle School after graduating from USC in 1988 and receiving degree in Education. Mother’s past-times were following the Gamecocks, gardening, and painting. She decided to earn her pilots license, once she completed her solo fight, she never flew again. Surviving by her daughters, Jeannie Cannon of Buffalo, NY and Nancy Cannon of Irmo, SC; sons, Chris Cannon of Columbia, Mark Cannon (Kathleen) of Rochester, NY and Jimmy Cannon of Colorado; son-in-law, Donald Yung of Grand Island, NY; 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Dottie Yung and son, Johnny Cannon. The family would like to extend a special appreciation to Mrs. Cannon’s neighbors for the past 10 years.
