Eloise P. Mcgee

The funeral service for Eloise P. McGee, 88, of Columbia, will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Temples-Halloran Funeral Home. The McGee family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Private inurnment will follow in Bush River Memorial Garden, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. The Reverend Richard Humphries will officiate.

Mrs. McGee was born in Saluda, SC on December 7, 1933, and passed away on June 10, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Pou and Connie Pou. Eloise was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Columbia. She served as a Sunday School teacher, a member of the choir, and participated in a variety of committees throughout the years. She attended South Carolina Baptist Hospital School of Nursing graduating as a registered nurse in 1955. She worked as an occupational nurse for several large companies and retired from Bell South after many years of service.

Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, Benjamin F. McGee; daughters, Karen Robertson of Chapin and Laura Meyer (Chris) of Atlanta; sisters, Lynette Walker and Judy Bray; grandchildren, Benjamin Robertson (Madison), Braxton and Landon Meyer. Those who preceded her in death besides her parents were sisters, Mae Rhinehardt and Anne Smith; brothers, Ellis Pugh, Everette Pou, Broadus Pou, Allison Pugh, Samuel Pou, Albert Pugh, and TB Pugh.

Her family would like to thank the staff of Laurel Crest and Lutheran Hospice for their loving care.
