Evelyn Roberts Bouknight

Mrs. Evelyn R. Bouknight, 95, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, with entombment to follow.

Evelyn was born on August 8, 1930, in Elgin, to Lexie and Effie Nelson Roberts. She attended St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and was a talented gardener with a special love for tea roses. Evelyn was a resident of Heritage at Lowman Home for the past three years, a cherished time in her life when she reconnected with her faith. She joyfully shared the gospel of Jesus’ love with her fellow residents by crocheting pillows and blankets and by visiting those who had no family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James Derrick Bouknight; siblings: Dorothy Rayfield, Mae Vance Roberts, Lexine Armstrong, and William Roberts.She is survived by her daughters, Denise Hollingsworth and Pamela Browning (Keith); five grandchildren, Amber (Justin) Whaley, Aaron (Jennifer) Wilson, Christopher (Meredith) Wilson, Eric Atchley, and Bethany (Matt) Hunt; and eight great-grandchildren, Jackson Whaley, Rhett Whaley, Belle Wilson, Abel Wilson, Owen Wilson, John Wilson, Graham Hunt, and Lily Hunt.
