Evelyn Bramlett Carleton

COLUMBIA--The service for Mrs. Evelyn Bramlett Carleton, 81, formerly of Columbia will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday June 20, 2016 in the Mausoleum Chapel atGreenlawn Memorial Park with the Reverend Henry Arrante officiating. Evelyn was born July 13, 1934 and died on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at NHC of Sumter.She was born in Lee County, SC and was the daughter of the late Benjamin Bramlett and Elma Smith Bramlett.Mrs. Carleton, widow of the late Frederick G. Carleton was educated at Antioch High School and attended the University of South Carolina where she was a member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority; Evelyn was also a longtime member of the Seven Oaks Presbyterian Church. Evelyn along with her late husband was also owners and operators of the Carleton Insurance Company for many years in the Columbia area. Survivors include a sister; Nora L. Muir (Max) of Alcolu, SC; nephews, Christopher Muir and Mike Muir (Karon); great-nephews, Brian Alan Muir and Andrew Dillon Muir. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210 and/or the Alzheimer’s Association, 140 Stoneridge Drive, Columbia, SC 29210.
