Floyd Thomas "Tom" Warren

COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Floyd Thomas “Tom” Warren, Sr. 89, of Columbia, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016 at St. Andrews Baptist Church, 230 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29210 with Dr. Ronald “Dee” Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072.The family will greet friends from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Temples Halloran Funeral Home is assisting the family. Mr. Warren, beloved husband of Elise, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016.Born in Colleton County, he was the son of the late Edgar Warren and Lola Herrin Warren.Tom grew up in Colleton County in the community of Stokes where he plowed the fields with Maude (the mule) with gee and haw directions.After serving in the United States Army during WWII, he and his wife moved to Columbia where he raised his family.He retired after 36 years of loyal service from Crowson-Stone Printing Co.Tom loved fishing and spending time at their home on Lake Murray. He was a longtime member of St. Andrews Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 64 years, Elise Gibson Warren of Columbia, SC; his son, Dr. Thomas “Tom” Warren, Jr. and wife Linda of San Ramon, CA; sister, Doris Mayo of Beaufort, SC; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter and one great-grandson, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
