Gerald Desso Webb, 53, of Irmo, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. Born on August 21, 1969, in Berlin, Germany, he was the son of the late Harvey Desso Webb and the late Christina Alvarez Webb. Gerald graduated from Airport High School and received associate degrees from Midlands Technical College in Computer Technology and Telecommunications Systems Management. He worked for the State of South Carolina, previously with the State Treasurer’s Office and most recently served as a Systems Analyst for DHEC. Gerald loved soccer, especially his favorite team, Arsenal. He loved to help others and was great at finding ways to save money and advising others on how to invest. He enjoyed spending time with his family, making people laugh, traveling, mastering trivia, cooking, and experimenting with new recipes. Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Marian, with whom he shared 16 years of marriage. He is also survived by his sister, Maxine B. Webb; his brother, Sean W. Webb (Jackie); his sister-in-law, Cindy S. Webb; his brother-in-law, Kenny Haselden (Kim); nieces and nephews: Heather (Jeremy), Rhett (Rachel), Savannah, Taylor, Jordan (Anna), Donovan, Jesse, Shawna, and Mia; and his great nephews and nieces, Nolan, Ella, Beckett, and Renley. Gerald was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Leisa M. Webb; his brother, Ronald D. Webb; and his mother-in-law, Thelma Haselden, who he helped care for during the last 13 years of her life. He was also predeceased by his four-legged children, precious Yorkies Anna and Ashley. The family will visit with friends at 10:00 on Monday, July 31, 2023 at Temples-Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, South Carolina, 29212. The service will be held at 11:00 and inurnment will follow. Pastor Justin McGuire will officiate.
