James G. Coutsos

The funeral service for James G. Coutsos Sr, 85, of Irmo will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, in the chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.The Coutsos family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.Entombment with Military Honors will follow at the Mausoleum of Bush River Memorial Gardens.The Reverend Dr. C. Clark McCrary, III will officiate. Dad was born June 21, 1936, in Columbia, SC, and joined mom, Andy and Liz in Heaven on April 26, 2022.He was the son of the late George J. Coutsos and Ruth Brown Coutsos Gann. Dad proudly served his country in the USMC.He was a dedicated member of Irmo First Baptist church where he welcomed everyone in attendance, sang in the choir, and served as a Deacon for many years. Dad owned and operated Coutsos Drywall Company to provide for his five boys and loving wife. Dad was a man looking for ways to encourage others and loved his Lord. Survivors include sons, James G. Coutsos, Jr. (Heather), Richard James Coutsos (April); Michael A. Giugliano, and Paul Giugliano (Beth); daughter-in-law, Paula Giugliano; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.Those who preceded him in death are his wife, Beverly P Coutsos; son, Andrew A. Giugliano; daughter-in-law, Liz Giugliano; sisters, Olga Grimsley, Anita Kirby, Penny Tucker, Helen Wilson, and Froshene Ross; brothers, George Coutsos, Jr., Johnny Coutsos, Billy and Gus Coutsos.
