John L. Bellamy,

IRMO—The funeral service for John L. Bellamy, Jr., 88, of Irmo, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2016 at Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. Entombment will follow in the Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.The Reverend Ron Rhodes will officiate. Mr. Bellamy passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016; he was born August 27, 1927 in Loris, SC and was the son of the late John L. Bellamy, Sr. and Lula Cox Bellamy.He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp and had retired from SCE&G after 35 years of dedicated service.Mr. Bellamy was a former member of College Place United Methodist Church and as well as Salem United Methodist Church, among his favorite activities that he enjoyed were fishing and hunting. Surviving are his beloved wife of 66 years, Jessie B. Bellamy; daughter, Gloria Hawkins (Bill) of Irmo; sons, Ralph E. Bellamy (Catherine) of Irmo and David D. Bellamy of Columbia; sister, Kathleen Whetstone; grandchildren, Wendy Hawkins, Matthew Bellamy and Mandy Bellamy.
