Judy Faye Blackmon

COLUMBIA—A funeral service for Judy Faye Blackmon, 72, of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.Pastor Tommy Reeves will officiate. Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens.The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2015 at the funeral home. Born in Jesup, GA, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. Grantham and Willie Mae Lane Grantham.She was a graduate of Jesup High School and moved to Columbia in 1974 where she and her family have lived.Judy and her family are members of Riverland Hill Baptist Church.Judy was one of the founders of the ministry called “Sharing God’s Love”, where she served as the food coordinator for over 10 years. At one point Judy called on 38 various churches where she coordinated food collection for this valuable area program. Judy also was an avid Barbie Doll collector and enjoyed many visits with her family to various antique malls in the area. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, James O. Blackmon; daughters, Laura Longstreet (Harry Connelly) of Cayce and Leslie Edwards (Stephen) of Jesup, GA; brother, William Grantham (Diane); grandchildren, Rebecca Leigh Longstreet, James Dean Longstreet, Christian Amber Edwards and Stephen Marcus Edwards; along with special friends, Nancy and Wayne Boatman.
