Matthew John "Matty" Rogozinski

LEXINGTON—A memorial service for Matthew John “Matty” Rogozinski, 74, of Lexington will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Mark Bredholt. The family will receive friends following the service in the community room at the funeral home. Matty was born in Perth Amboy, NJ on June 2, 1941, son of the late Matthew Rogozinski and Anna Borisewski Rogozinski.In his younger days he raced stock cars and was an excellent mechanic. He and his family relocated from New Jersey to Columbia in 1997 to follow his son’s baseball career on the South Carolina Baseball Team.Matty formerly played baseball and was an avid fan that enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play baseball. Surviving is his loving wife of 43 years, Gloria Leigh Keith Rogozinski of Lexington; daughter, Stephanie Godwin (Daniel) of Elkmont, AL; son, Benjamin M. Rogozinski (Stacia) of Grayson, GA; grandchildren, Oliva, Benjamin, Jr., Maddox Rogozinski, Madison Godwin and Matthew Reuter.Then from prior marriage, daughter, Charlotte Danko and family and son, Charles Rogozinski and family.Matty was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Rogozinski and sister, Lillian Kondas.
