Michael E. Gatlin, Sr.

Michael E. Gatlin, Sr., 61, of Lexington, passed away on October 11, 2022, with his loving wife by his side. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Rd, Columbia, SC, 29212. Interment will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens. Rev. Don Turner will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. prior to the service. Michael was born on January 23, 1961, in Wilmington, Delaware, to the late Donald F. and Caroline Gatlin. He was a graduate of the 1979 class of Columbia High School. Michael also earned an Associate’s Degree from Midlands Technical College. He went on to work for Stoudenmire Heating and Air Conditioning, which he later became the owner of. Michael was also a member of Round Hill Baptist Church. Those left to mourn his loss include his devoted wife of 29 years, Connie Gatlin; sons: Michael E. Gatlin, Jr. (Krista) and Brandon P. Gatlin; sisters: Donna Gatlin and Leslie Gatlin; step-brother: Gary Gatlin; and grandchildren: Shyanne L. Moore, Abraham M. Gatlin, Asher L. Gatlin, and Annabelle M. Gatlin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Michael’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 200 Center Point Cir, #100, Columbia, SC, 29210.
