Ruth Justice Phillips

LEXINGTON—Services for Mrs. Phillips will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212 with Pastor Mark Smith officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. Ruth died December 31, 2014. Born on July 27, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Ira Lee Justice and Maude Pearl Sullivan Justice. She loved the beach and enjoyed golf. Ruth was a member of the Lexington County Ladies Golf Association and former member of the Country Club of Lexington. In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Q. E. (Gene) Phillips, son Kevin Phillips, daughter-in-law Pam Phillips and six siblings: brothers Bill Justice, Harold Justice, and Jim Justice; sisters Helen Hatley and Mary LeFever; and infant sister Kathryn Justice. Mrs. Phillips is survived by two daughters, Sharon and husband Buster Elrod of Lexington, SC and Marta and husband Mike Duggar of Little River, SC; two sons, Kip Phillips of Chapin, SC and Kris Phillips and wife Kelly of Lexington, SC; grandson Bart Phillips and wife Mary of Columbia, SC; sister Betty Keaton of Hudson, NC; two sisters-in-law, Jean Justice of Hudson, NC and Cleo Justice of Lenoir, NC; brother-in-law Ellis Hatley of Lenoir, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
